Baby Hair at 1 Year, 9 Months

September 8, 2011

A’s hair is finally long enough to do little ponytails, or one ponytail, that stays in pretty well. It’s also curly and has a lot of texture, so even though it’s fine, it holds, and it’s really, really super cute.

Except invariably, on the way to school, she pulls it out.

C definitely didn’t do that at this age. With C, she was at this stage of hair at 8-9 months old, so by the time she hit the fiddly age at 1.5 or so, she was used to having her hair styled.

I can’t remember with R. I know there was SOME phase where she’d take her hairstyles down, but I don’t remember it being this long or frustrating.

Note: just went back and looked at pics of R at 1 year, 9 months old. And her hair is down, and in her eyes, in every single one. So this is the age for messy hair. At least A’s doesn’t hang in her eyes- A’s is also a lot curlier though I think the texture is similarly fine. Saw pics of C at 1 year, 9 months old too. Had big full thick ponytails. Also, in both sets of pictures, I was toting around a chubalicious 3-5 month old baby. I’m behind.

I guess I just need to be persistent on it and she’ll get over it. The other two did.
